Kiki’s Delivery Service ( Japanese 魔女の宅急便 Majo no takkyūbin ? ) is the fifth film anime coming from Studio Ghibli , and also the fourth, which hit the cinema screens. Its premiere took place in 1989 year. The producer, writer and director was Hayao Miyazaki . The scenario is an adaptation of a novel by Eiko Kadono of the same title, published in 1985 , the by Shoten Publishing Fukuin – this is Miyazaki’s second film, not based on his original idea. Therefore, the girl embarks on a journey to his mother’s broom, accompanied by his best friend, talking black cat named Jiji.
