Story

The parents of Fei Fei, a Chinese girl , tell her the legend of Chang’e , who allegedly drank a potion that gave her immortality , changing her into a goddess and making her rise to the moon , thus leaving her. lover Houyi , whom she still awaits in heaven. For the annual Moon Festival , Fei Fei and his family bake moon cakes for their entire village. However, Fei Fei’s mother falls ill and gives her daughter a rabbit that she names Cabriole before dying.

Four years later, Fei Fei, who still believes in the legend of Chang’e, is furious when she learns that her father is engaged to Ms. Zhong, Chin’s mother, a turbulent and unbearable child. Fei Fei’s family join them in celebrating the Moon Festival, but during the meal, Fei Fei realizes that his father no longer believes in Chang’e and that his family denies the existence of the goddess. Angry, she leaves for the lake where she often went with her mother and remembers the latter. Inspired by the legend of Chang’e and by a crane , Fei Fei decides to build a rocket and go to the moon in order to prove Chang’e’s existence. She then creates a rocket that resembles a lantern in the shape of a rabbit that usesfireworks to take off. The rocket takes off correctly but Fei Fei realizes that Chin came with it in the rocket and they start to shoot back down to Earth . Suddenly, the rocket is caught in a mysterious ray of energy and they are taken to the Moon. They crash onto the surface of the Moon when two large Chinese lions play with the rocket, then take the protagonists to Lunaria, a kingdom made entirely of light on the dark side of the Moon.
