Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation is an American CG – animated film co-written (with Michael McCullers ) and directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, released in 2018. It is the sequel to Hotel Transylvania ( 2012 ) and Hotel Transylvania 2 ( 2015 ). It will be followed by Hotel Transylvania: Monster Changes, released in 2021. In 1897, Dracula and his friends travel in disguise on a train to Budapest. However, Dracula’s and the monsters’ worst enemy, Professor Abraham Van Helsing, boards the train and uncovers the monsters; the monsters escape by climbing through the roof, and Drac pushes his friends off the train for their safety. Van Helsing becomes obsessed with destroying Dracula and the monsters but is constantly outwitted by Drac.

Right now, a few weeks after the second movie, Drac is running his hotel business smoothly with Mavis and Johnny. Drac is depressed for having remained single since the death of his wife Martha despite his attempts to meet someone. Misinterpreting this as stress from overwork, Mavis books a cruise so they can all take a break and spend more time together as a family.

Drac, Johnny, Mavis, Dennis, Vlad, and hotel guests board a cruise ship called Legacy. Drac sees the ship’s human captain, Ericka, and immediately falls in love with her at first sight, which he thought was impossible since he had already “Zinged” her before.

Ericka then goes to a private, secret room on the lower decks where she finds Abraham Van Helsing, secretly her great-grandfather. Van Helsing has almost entirely mechanized his body to avoid death and has the plan to wipe out all the monsters: when the cruise arrives at the lost city of Atlantis, he will use an instrument of destruction in the ruins of ‘Atlantis. Van Helsing makes Ericka promise not to assassinate Dracula beforehand, but she makes numerous failed attempts to do so anyway. Dracula’s friends overhear Ericka complaining about her inability to obtain it and misinterpret it as a sign of affection. Drac nervously asks Ericka to have dinner with him, and she accepts since she sees this as another opportunity to kill him.
