Jorge the Curious is a 2006 film based on the series of the same name by HA and Margret Rey . Will Ferrell performs the voice of Ted , the man in the yellow hat. The film is directed by Matthew O’Callaghan (after replacing Jun Falkenstein). This project was under development at Imagine Entertainment for a long time, at least since 1992 (and, possibly, many years before).
The script was written by Michael McCullers, Dan Gerson, Rob Baird, Joe Stillman and Karey Kirkpatrick. Although it is a traditional animation film, about twenty percent was made in 3D environments generated by computer. This was the first feature film released by Universal Studios since Balto in 1995. It was Imagine Entertainment’s first animated film.
